How Spelling Tests work
When a student takes a test, they’ll be answering outside of Sumdog’s games, much like a paper test. The results are sent to you in real time and you can share or print these if you wish.
Tests can be repeated for a class or student to see if they have shown an improvement. You can also create a test for your current class and repeat it for your class next year.
Students are able to start the test and then stop and come back to it (as long as it’s within the time limit you have set).
How to set a Spelling Test
- Ensure you have Spelling selected on your dashboard and go into Set Work
- Click 'set a task'
- Click the box that says 'test', then click 'next'
- Choose how many questions you would like to include in the test by selecting a number from the dropdown menu, then click 'next'
- Now you will select the skills you'd like to include in your task. You can either use the search bar on the right or filter skills by selecting a year level and a domain. Select the skill or skills you'd like to include by clicking the box next to the skill, then click 'next'
- You will see a preview of all the questions that will be included in your test. If you'd like to replace any question with a new one, click the 'refresh' icon on the left above the question
