Xporter allows Sumdog to integrate with SEEMiS. You choose the teachers, classes and pupils to share and they'll be auto-rostered onto Sumdog
Note: Xporter is only available in Scotland.
How can I get set up?
If you would like your school to be set up through the Xporter integration you can contact support@sumdog.com. We will then send an invitation to your Local Authority to share data. Our team will be able to guide you through the process.
Before we start the integration please make sure that all the teachers have their work email (or email address you would like their Sumdog accounts to be registered to) listed as the Primary (or main) email address on SEEMiS. You will also need to make sure that the teachers are listed as a teaching staff. This step is important as our system will only create accounts for teachers who are listed as a teaching staff.
If your school has an existing account, our team will do a matching process that will match any existing Sumdog pupil accounts with the data shared with us, this way the students won’t lose any of their past progress or coins.
How long does it take to get set up?
It typically takes a few days. Here are the steps from start to finish:
- We send a request via Xporter to your local authority
- The local authority accepts the request and the relevant data is shared. The Local Authority can choose what data to share.
- We complete a matching process between any existing Sumdog pupil accounts and those provided via Xporter. We'll contact you if we see any discrepancies.
- Once complete, we turn on the sync between Xporter and Sumdog
- Your students can enjoy Sumdog!
What happens to already existing Sumdog student accounts?
We do our best to make sure no student accounts are lost.
Our matching process involves going through the data we receive and matching them with Sumdog accounts. We match based on first name and last name.
If there are any discrepancies, or we need to create new accounts, we'll contact you to discuss next steps.
Any Sumdog student accounts that are not included in the data shared with us through Xporter will be removed from the Sumdog platform as they are likely old accounts.
Any Sumdog accounts set up in the past that haven't been used will also be removed and provided a new account.
Overall, we take time and care to make sure your students and teachers aren't impacted by the initial integration.
